Well, I hardly ever post to this account, let alone this journal, but since this movie promotion has made journal skins available to non-subscribers, I thought I'd give that a try.

This Noveling Season
I'm hacking away at a 50k novel again this year, and so far, things have been going slowly but well. I made friends with several other Wrimos in my area and we've gotten together a couple times to chat about our novels, which is very fun and inspiring.

I'm behind on my word count, as usual, but I've been having a lot of fun with my story, so I'm not too stressed. The fantasy land I created is already fully populated without any help on my part, and the local keep stepping forward and insisting that they have a place in my story also, which is very exciting. (I love the locals, they're great.)

As for my plot, well, I actually have on this year! Woot! I did a fair amount of pre-planning this year for once, instead of simply flying by the seat of my pants, and thus far it has paid off. On the days when I haven't felt particularly inspired, I could simply look over my notes and pick something to work on. Seriously, it's crazy what a little organization can do. (Getting Scrivener really helped too.)

In Other Works
As for the rest of my art: while I haven't exactly been posting a storm here, I think that I am going to deliberately extend the dry spell. I have been stifling my own art for years through a chocking sense of perfectionism, and so long as I feel like my art is meant for the public, I can't turn off the hyper-critical voices. So, in order to shut them up, I need to stop sharing for a while, and just let myself play around for the fun of it again. If I can get back to the play, I think that not only will my art improve, but I'll actually enjoy doing it again, which for me is the whole point. So, in the solitude of my room, I'm going to work on just doing art for the love again.

I guess that's about all I have to say for now.
If you read this, thank you.

J'ai décidé d'arrêter d'avoir pitié de moi. Autre que mon oeil, deux choses ne sont pas paralysées, mon imagination et ma mémoire.
